In a recent turn of events the Monger Class mech has gotten a redesign and refurbish. The project is a joint venture between a number of weapons contractors including up and coming BunTech Industries, from whom a lot of missile guidance innovations came. The Monger is an older Assault Class mech, favored by pilots who want to combine the strong area denial of its cluster missiles with high yield ordinance that can only fit on a heavier mech frame. Weighing in at 100 tons of steel it cuts an imposing profile on the battlefield that few mechs can match.

According to a BTI spokesperson most of the work was in the ordinance a majority of the work is in the ordinance: "She’s a very solid piece of mech. Very little had to be done with the core design. The Monger suffers from some older out-dated weapon systems. We got better technology, various parties were interested in getting The Monger back up to spec, we made it happen. There was some minor tuneup to the actuators to fix some twitch issues when entering and exiting cruising speeds. PPCs have been retooled to more closely match current PPC standards and technology. Laser cycle times have been improved. And the heavy clusters missile system has gotten an overhaul and revamp. See our earlier press releases on the technology advancements."

All future Mongers in production shall be incorporating these advancements. Anyone still fielding Mongers are urged to contact their suppliers for a retrofit of the new technology. Shanobetech is anticipating an increase in orders for the assault mech and are stepping up their production lines to accommodate.
