Mech For Review: Brigand

Health levels: 1.5 (600)
About average health for a light mech, it’s comparitively low health amounts to the rest of the mechs in MCM will make it melt quickly under any form of heavy weapons or concentrated fire. Use your mobility to hit and run and stay alive.

Speed: 3 on ground, 3.5 in the air
For a light mech, has comparitively slow ground speed, and appears to have a moderate air speed. I suggest using Jump jets to leap over buildings and keep the fire on your position to a minimum.

Flight capability: 4
Capable of prolonged flight, able to stay in the air for about thirty seconds. Can ascend tall buildings in Old city with about 20 fuel consumption. Not a true flier, but a close cousin.

Hitbox Size: 4
Small mech, but with a hit box that seems to fit it well for it’s size.

Weapons that come with: Thug Guase, Manipulator Arms, Clan pulse Laser

Thug Gause:
Equip slot: Right Pec
Damage level: 4 (57 damage)
ammo: 2 (80)
range: 3 (Roughly sixty meters)
Projectile type: Bullet, Physical
Projectile speed: 3
fire rate: 1 (one shot, with two second delay between shots)
Heat generation: 4 (Causes small increase in heat, but fires so slowly it shouldn’t be an issue short of hot setups)
Ease of aim: 4 (Large splash, decently traveling projectile
Special: Can cause Physical knock around on occasion with impact due to old Guass bullet used.
Hardmounted: Yes
Splash Size: 4 ( 5 meter across splash bubble)
Personal notes: This weapon could almost be considered a light version of a BFG. With a medium range, hard hitting (for a light mech), and almost perfectly accurate, this weapon is great for splashing ground bound mechs and assaulting enemy assault mechs. Unfortunately, it’s rather lacking in being able to hit air targets unless you are a crack shot with it. This weapon would be greatly beneffitted with weapons to fire at mobile targets and airborne targets. On a side note, due to being an old prim based explosion, it is possible for the quick or the light to leap out of the blast un-scathed, but this is a common problem to many weapons.

Manipulator Claws:
Equip slot: Left and Right arm
Damage level: 1 (8)
ammo: 5 (Unlimited)
range: 1 (Melee, 0-2 meter range)
Projectile type: Melee
Projectile speed: Sensor Based
fire rate: 3 (Spammable, after hit roughly one second cooldown)
Heat generation: 1 ( Neglible heat generation)
Ease of aim: 5 (Get close, click repeatedly)
Special: None
Hardmounted: Yes
Splash Size: N/A
Personal notes: It’s melee, get close and swing repeatedly untill your opponent dies. However, due to it’s extremely low damage level, and slow swing rate, this melee is out classed and out damaged by nearly every single other weapon in existance, and is nearly useless. I suggest replacing it for weapons to compliment the Thug Guass.

Clan Pulse Laser:
Equip slot: Left and Right Arm
Damage level: 1.5 (6 damage a bullet, three shot rapid burst)
ammo: 5 (Unlimited)
range: 4 (100 meters )
Projectile type: Bullet, Physical
Projectile speed: 4
fire rate: 5 (Three shot burst, with under quarter second refire)
Heat generation: 5 (Heat generation is neglible)
Ease of aim: 5 (Aim at target, hold down the trigger untill you hit.)
Special: None
Hardmounted: No
Splash Size: 0, None
Personal notes: This weapon is a standard off the wall Clan Pulse Laser. Statwise, It’s exactly par, and behaves exactly the same. A great addition to a light setup if you wish to shoot down incoming enemy projectiles, or wish to break equipment mounted on low health enemy mechs. However, it has low damage, which is offset by high bullet speed and a tight spread of projectiles, garunteeing at least one impacts. Short of shooting at other wounded light mechs, I would suggest this weapon be replaced. If you wish to spam with it though, attach Pec Med pulse rifles and shoulder Gatling Lasers.

Overall review
This mech is a rapid, fast, and hard hitting light mech for abusing those stuck on the ground if equiped with DaaC and JJ’s. I found often times hit and runs with this mech equiped with an additional light guass rifle on the left arm (The right arm clips with the Pec gause if both are used) to punish ground mechs for nearly 100 damage per salvo of splash damage. A mounted medium laser or pergrine on the right arm allows for at least some form of weaponry with which to shoot at other light mechs with for self defense, while keeping the heat low. This assortment allows enough mounting points to be left over for a triple heat sink on the left shoulder and a double heat sink on the left pec, making heat not an issue. This is all granted if you have the overload perk. As a rule of thumb, use this mech for hit and run, and don’t sit in solid fire fights, you may have hard hitting weapons for a light mech, but assaults and heavies have heavier hitting weapons, and far more health. Use that mobility to it’s maximum.
