Vtol For Review: Swoop

Health levels: 1 (250)
This Vtol is litterally made of paper. with only 250 health, it will quickly and easily die to anything with laser beams, and can easily be brought down in one to two full salvos from most light mech loadouts.

Speed: 4
Relatively slow on the ground, this Vtol shines in the air where it will fly circles around most other airborn foes, enabling you to dance and dodge incoming AA projectiles.

Flight capability: 5
It’s a Vtol, Vertical Take Off and Landing, it’s an airplane, enough said.

Hitbox Size: 2
Inherently because of the shape of the Vtol, the Avi sits much taller than the actual prims, and is no where near as long as the body is. Normally in mechs this is easily handled, but it is much more complicated against VTOLS when your often times shooting upwards and at the small underside of the shapes.

Weapons that come with: Swoop Cannon

Swoop Cannon:
Equip slot: Left and Right Arms.
Damage level: 5 (6 projectiles, 20 damage each)
ammo: 5 (Labbeled as 600, is really meant to be 1 to signify infinite.)
range: 5 (Cross sim capabilities.)
Projectile type: Phatom, Projectile.
Projectile speed: 4
fire rate: 3 (About a one and a half second pause between bursts)
Heat generation: 5 (Not noticable)
Ease of aim: 5 (Many bullets combined with decently large explosion radia garuntees at least one hit even at long range.)

Hardmounted: Yes
Splash Size: ? (Sensor based, so hard to tell. appears to be 2-3 meters though.)
Personal notes: These weapons are bassically fully automated, six round burst light gauss rifles both in appearance, damage, and explosion radius. Rapid fire, hard hitting, and explosive, these weapons will make anything stuck on the ground and caught in their rain of doom cry. Add in the cross sim range, and you have an excellent cieling prim harrasser. However, there is a small catch. The momentum of your movements will carry over to your bullets, and as such makes aiming much more difficult. In case you don’t know what this means, it works like this: You move up while shooting, your bullets curve upwards, move left, they curve left, move down, they curve down, etc. At long ranges, this renders it much more difficult to actually hit things, but the sheer amount of spam makes it so at least one contacts at least. Another small issue is no verbal confirmation if you hit, so you don’t always know if your actually firing correctly or not.

Overall review
All in all, this airplane is a glass cannon. While most assault mechs can one shot it with it’s measly 250 health, it is something you do not want to ignore at it’s possible alpha of 240 damage if it catches you in all of it’s explosions. If you see a chance to swoop in and pour your fire into a ground bound mech, do not be afraid to do so, as your life expectancy in a VTOL is very short anyways.
The mortal bane of all Vtols though, this one included, are beam weapons and light/medium mechs. Beam weapons will reach out and touch you with no chance to dodge, wiping your paper airplane off the map with one wastelander salvo. Then light mechs and mediums are capable of chasing you into the air, your one safe haven, and giving pursuit. If they are additionally armed with lasers, your time alive is severly marked unless they simply can’t aim, or you have team mates helping you.
Simply put, this Plane is a team based Plane, and designted for assault harrasser. Work with your team, and you will do wonders with it. Work alone, and you will find yourself dieing to competent opponents repeatedly. Base your want to buy this on how well you can work with allies, or how many people are going assault pure around you.
