Weapon Updates
Two weapons have been updated. The Phobos LRM and the Orbital Cannon.

The Phobos LRM should be the last of the LRM systems to be updated. It was found to have inferior stats to an omnimount LRM system, so in response we’ve matched those stats, and then given the Phobos LRMs a little more fuel, which means they’ll track a little longer then omnimount LRMs.

This should mean that every LRM system in MCM is now updated. If there is a LRM system that hasn’t been updated, please let us know.

The Orbital Cannon was updated at the request of another player. It was pointed out that the phalanx BBS system was outperforming it despite being a lighter weapon with lower loadpoints. After examining the two weapon systems I found the BBS attacks every .3 seconds, where the orbital cannon fires every 1 second. I rewrote the Orbital cannon to attack every .3 seconds. While I was reworking it I changed it to use a raycast to scan for the position to deploy the laser to, and added code that makes the laser strike from above. So if there’s cover above the target, it may take the brunt of the laser instead of the point you aimed at.

This also means if you are beneath someone who is on a platform, you can potentially blast them sneakily by calling down orbital strikes on their head.

The damage of the Orbital cannon is listed as lower 27 damage instead of 90. Do not worry, this is because it’s attacking more rapidly, therefore it’s the same DPS as before, just broken into smaller, more rapidly applied chunks, so it’s harder to hit someone with the blast without it actually hurting them.
